I'm bipolar and my zyrexa was just recently tripled. It makes me want to eat even if I'm not hungry. Its the oddest thing. My brain says to eat anyway. I'm so sick of this!! I know its the medication diong this. Ive been told to eat celery, drink water, etc. How do I change what's in my mind that this evil drug is doing?

Alas, some of these anti-psychotics and other psychiatric drugs do mess with the hunger desire. One study indicated that they were actually affecting something about the body's metabolism.

I took zyprexa a good while back, so I don't remember what it did. I have taken so darn many of these drugs. I do know one med caused me to go from a size 10/12 to an 18 over one summer--and I honestly don't remember eating more than usual.

Yeah, I guess celery is recommended because it stuffs your mouth. But I don't like it either.....I suppose any vegetable is generally low calorie. Maybe you could saute some green beans or do something like that as well.
