I am gaining weight and struggle with immune issues. My body is suffering from what I am doing. I had about 2200 calories today and I am not very active. My body hurts and so other than some housework and cooking I don't really do very much. A poor combination that is not working out very well. I am trying to change.

Have you tried exercising? It has a pretty fabtastic effect. I know its hard (I cant do it myself). But if you work out, you will get more energy, feel better about yourself. The motivation will become stronger to eat healthy and be more active. try if you can. Its not easy to combine if you have some mental issues lie loneliness or anxiety!

You should get into exercising. Walking is an easy way to begin getting more physical activity, and it's easier to handle than thinking about going on a run or kicking your butt at the gym. Baby steps can get you more active! Also, if interested, I used to eat a ton of junk food, muffins, cakes, bagels, sandwiches, etc. and I would get very bad body aches and bloat, making me weigh more. Ever since clearing wheat from my diet, I have not been bloated, I've had more energy, I eat less, my blood sugar levels don't go haywire, and I don't have pain in my body anymore! Wheat is a toxin i swear by it, maybe you should do some research, maybe even go gluten-free to start... only if you are interested of course, i always like to share anything that has been successful for me.. Hope you figure out how to change and feel better soon

Struggle right now feeling like food is holding me together. Too many upsets. Feel like it is not possible to do anything about it. Hard to let go.

I still want the things that aren't good for me. Want to dull or distract from the pain with the temporary pleasure of eating. Hate having to give up anything. A life time struggle.

A while back I managed to lose some weight and regain some control by eating more protein and much less carbs - I find that definitely filling up on carbs can lead to overeating. Also, have you tried taking a high dose multivitamin/mineral supplement - it's just a thought as you may be having cravings for foods through lacking something.
There is a website called DoctorYourself.com: Andrew Saul's Natural Health Website which has info on vitamin supplementation. You have my sympathy, as I'm still working through a lot of this myself. |

I have been where you are Pianogirl and I feel for you. I am now worse, as my house is worse and I can't really exercise except maybe a little pilates laying down so it isn't hard on my skeletal system. I am not averse to changing what I eat, I have really good plans, but following thru takes effort I am not sure I have. Lately I have wondered if I have the strength to get up and make my smoothies and cook the healthy meals. I really need to turn this tide now. I am with you, how hard it is to turn life around. Take care.

I am overwhelmed at the moment by my total inability to deal with food. I am using food as a crutch. Every pain in showing up in food. There is a lot of pain in my feelings about my family . Seems like there is just a lot of hurt going on even though it seems like we all do love each other. Hurtful arguments, hurtful neglects , hurtful unmet needs for time, love and attention. It seems so sad these divisions and strifes. In the end though I think the food and the fat on my body just makes things all the more sorrowful.

When I'm in a bad place with food, I try to work on the exercise piece. I don't overdo it. In fact, if I walk for 20 min to 1/2 hour I may stop, because I want to end a routine wanting more, not dreading the next time.
