I was struggling with food decisions to begin with and then I spoke with my therapist about setting some up some rules around it. Somehow this feel worse especially since my husband inadvertantly adds to the problems by suggesting going out to dinner at places that would be too hard for me. He forgets that food is a real problem for me even physically. Right now the only thing I could do to settle things was to talk with him about it and have a simple supper. Need to find peace somehow in the midst of many challenges.

Sorry PianogirlPlays you are having challenges with food.
I have to watch what I eat because foods I eat can stabilize my moods or exaggerate them. A high protein low carb diet with small snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my swings. I also avoid alcohol and recreational drugs because those can really increase depression. Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central. Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems though still there are more manageable.

No, I am just confused about food. Driven by anger I want to eat but then it is worse. My therapist though understood when I said I couldn't handle rules . Need to get a handle on emotions. She is trying to help me.
