hello, my name is Amber and I am 14 years old. I know that I might have something wrong with me, but I don't know what it is. One aspect is my "paranoia". My friends tell me I am an extremely paranoid and anxious person. They tell me it's not normal to hide everything, to lock every door, to think of the ridiculous scenarios that I do. I believe everyone has an ulterior motive, and they are all out to get me. These feelings of intense fear have turned me from a bubbly energetic girl to nothing more than a shaky terrified bunny rabbit. I feel like my heart is going to stop from it beating so fast sometimes. Could someone please tell me what this is??

Hello Amber, I'm sorry you're suffering with paranoid thoughts and fear feelings (also with the hallucinations, as you've described in your other post).

I think you probably know no-one here can diagnose you but what you're experiencing sounds pretty serious and I'd straight out advise you to talk to someone in your life about it, your parents, your doctor, your school counsellor or pastoral carer. You really don't need to suffer like this in silence or alone and I'm not sure this forum can help you as you need helping.

Hope you do decide to speak to someone at home. Best wishes Amber.

I think this might hit children who have had adults or guardians that are very controlling and have no respect towards their right to privacy or ownership of personal property. A child feels powerless toward the superior government 'override' of the parent, anger follows. It's gotta go somewhere, the child perceives the violation of their humaness and personhood. If you can't trust your parent to give you a 'square' deal and protect you...well, the math is basic. However, the personality disorder exhibited (showing traits) will attract the very thing you're 'paranoid' about in your future life; if it looks like you've got malfunction going on, those who would seek to exploit you have found a 'hole' to really do things because they think they've 'torn down' your testimony. Seek guidance from an adult you feel you can trust immediately. If you're honest, even a counsellor at school will get you a link to help.

Ha! The other commentator sounds like they've ripped a preface page out of that old, French novel...oh, what's it called again...

You can always say, "I'm not your Maude!" and just laugh and walk away.
