Grandma is displaying a few weird behaviors, she already had some sort of dementia and a brain injury in 2001, but now she's suddenly had a bad change.
First of all, she preaches to everyone to insane levels about her religion... maybe not weird to some people, but the level she's doing it is much more than she was in the past. In fact, religion is all she will talk about now pretty much. Second, she says things over and over again a lot more. Like "I love you" is her favorite phrase and she says it to everyone several times a day. You tell her that she said that not long ago already and she has forgotten she said it earlier, probably the dementia. She has forgotten her dog as well and treats it like a strange dog. Third and the strangest of all, she will walk around a lot, stop, then bend over and start to shake on that spot, she acts like she's in a trance doing it. You ask her what she is doing, and she will say either thinking or praying. Especially the third thing I'm worried about... she wasn't doing the third thing the last time we saw the doctor last week so I don't know how soon we can schedule another appointment. And also her son tends to ignore things, and also he's our only transportation. I think she needs a pdoc... but her son is against it. What to do?

I think if she's senile already and has other problems that her normal, general doctor is the one to see again. Even though you all just saw him last week, maybe a phone consult of her new behaviors? I don't know that there is much a doctor can do for her though, for the odd behaviors of senility. I feel bad for you experiencing this in your grandmother; I remember my stepmother's senility and how sad and uncomfortable that was for me..
