My husband and I have been discussing the possibility of me continuing on with classes during the summer term. I would have to drive 40 minutes away, and attend class probably 6 hours a day 4-5 days a week, and that's part time. I really want to continue on and keep getting the credit I need, but I'm really scared to take my babies to daycare.

With some research I discovered there is a daycare through the college and there is financial aid available. Which means the babies would be right on campus with me.

My babies are 13 months and 2 years. I personally think my 13 month old is too young, but then again being around other children and getting out of this house would benefit her. I'm not sure what to do or think. I no longer nurse her anymore so now she doesn't need me as much as before.

Please give me your opinion, I really don't have anybody besides my husband who can kind of sway me in the right direction.

My husband tells me to do what I feel is right, I'm the mom, it's my job. Which he's right.

Thanks alot.

Both of my kids were in day care from an early age, but they were always within 5 minutes of either my job or my husband's, which was really cool. I was able to continue nursing them or just stop in and visit on my lunch hour.

I think it would be a good thing. They can get some more social interaction, you get a break and get to continue your schooling, and they're nearby so you can check in to see that they really are doing OK.

My first child went to daycare at an early age. It was a good social experience for her. I was a single mother and had to work. My middle child was able to stay home. I worked mornings and my husband worked evenings. He would take care of them in the am and then I would take over. In both situations things were not always done how I would do them, but both children were always happy.

there are alot of younger children in daycare and if you have a daycare at school I would think it would be ok so you can finish your education!

If they have an "on" campus facility, that sounds pretty good, though I'm not into Daycare for too many hours, but this can be fun, like, "mommy and we" are going to school sort of thing, they just might like this idea.
One of the colleges I went to part time, had an on site daycare, even some of the students working on their masters in child development assisted there, moms if their breaks were around the time the kids had lunch or snacks outside, their moms were allowed to join them. I feel good about this possiblity, just check out any back up options in case you need one
Look into it, this can all work out fine for you and the girls.
Lots of luck,
DE

I just found out some great news. I called Concord/CASE, the child care facility I was intrested in that's on campus, and I talked to the boss and she was great! A very nice lady who explained everything I needed to know.

Then she recommended I called Mountain Heart, it's financial assistance based on my income for the child care bill.

I'm so happy, I really think this will benefit my children, and definilty myself. I just hope it continues going this well.

Thanks alot for all your advice, I think I'm going to go for it and see how they react to it. I really think they will enjoy being around other children, and I will be soooo close.

Are my babies to young for daycare? Are my babies to young for daycare? Are my babies to young for daycare? Are my babies to young for daycare? Are my babies to young for daycare? I'm sooooooooo happy!!!!

not only will the kids enjoy it but you will too. I think you will see really how fast they will grow being around other kids. it is really good for them in most cases. they get to come home and tell you about their day!
