There isn't an icon for how I feel. None of those faces are even close.

*****!

We're going to have to just take over.

The last two days have just been so crushing.

He called me up, all scared and angry because Sears wasn't going to pay for his Starchoice satellite TV service, or something. Some collection agency was after him. He couldn't tell me who called. Actually, I had less information than that, to work from.

Turns out that about three months ago, he found an old Sears card, from before he went bankrupt (two years ago). He called up Starchoice, and somehow convinced them to charge it to his Sears card. And he suscribed to all the pay channels, everything.

Of course, the charges bounced, and he just doesn't understand how the world operates any more. Where money even comes from. He owes hundreds of dollars on this one account. What else is lurking?

The nurse called this morning. He's missed some med doses. There are pills still left in his weekly drug organizer. And he has injuries on his legs he can't explain.

And my sister is flying to Germany tomorrow.

*****~

Hang in there, Larry. I'm sorry you're left alone with this right now.

Larry,
I sort of can relate, 2003 my mom had all collection agents after her, she was so mentally and is more, gone, stuffing bills from Oct 2002 till July 2003, in grocery bags, needless to say, when we got to FL in July 2003, everything was an utter nightmare, lots of phone/bank work, etc.
Yes, I have an idea of how hard it is. I'm going through a similar thing with her once again, and I, for my mental and physical survival, must call it quits, for I am emotionally and physically dieing.
Larry, and others going through this, it sucks doesn't it???????
Let us send energies/prayers of strength and healing, to one another.

Love y'all,
Rosanne

What we have done is what dad did with most monthly expenses, work with the bank, and applied direct checkless payment to utilities, phone, cable, etc. This has caused a lot heartache, now I'm going to see if the low income seniour housing she is in will do this with her rent.
I get tired having to worry that I get it to them on time.

Hi Lar -

It is really hard, when the roles reverse, and you must become the parent.

I'm sorry for your frustration and sorrow. My only sibling had died 16 years before my parents needed support, so I know what it's like to be "stuck" with the problem, with no place else to turn.

Sending you prayers for peace and supernatural strength at this difficult time.

Hugs,

EJ

There are resources to help. I am glad my parents are dead to me. Every state has the older american's act. You can look for an agency on aging near you. Larry, you are a good man. I salute you.

My dad has stabilized. They had a nurse and a personal care attendant in each day. He'll get re-assessed next week.

I think we caught him in time.

Thanks for everything, everybody.
