I've been taking care of my little sister since she was raped by our uncle. It has been a hard road and had a couple stays in the hospital for suicide thoughts but she is coming around pretty good. Faster than what most people would after going through such a tramatic event like this. Any way, she and I are in college and we are living in the same dorm room now. We have been getting along pretty good and things have been going smooth.

Just last week she got really sick with a sinus infection and I have been trying hard to keep up with my homework and trying to make sure that she stays in bed. I feel like I have been running around so fast that I can't remember what I did just yesterday. LOL! Any way, now I am starting to get sick and it's so hard as it is to keep up with my little sister let alone me being sick like I am.

I just feel bad because I can't be there for my little sister right now when I know she could use some love from me. I just feel so bad because I have been sleeping so much the last few days. I try to do my homework but I can't seem to stay awake long enough to even get a page read out of my books. Any way, Does any one know what I can do to feel better? I'm just really not myself right now and I'm very depressed over everything. I've been seeing a therapist and that does help but I have limited myself to meeting with her only twice a month because I am in the process of changing therapists right now. Any ideas on how to cheer my sister up when I am sick myself, I would greatly appreciate all the help!

Thanks

Pamelasu,

I would focus on getting yourself better in the short run. How about making yourself some hot tea, and put some lemon in it. It sounds like you are really tired, as you should be, with the tremendously good care you have been giving your sister.

I'm so sorry your sister had to go through such a terrible thing. It sounds like you have been a champ.

Maybe you could buy your sister some extra nice hand cream. That way she can put it on, and still feel cared by you -- even if you are napping so you can get better.

Hello I agree you need to take care of yourself at this time. I am sure your sister knows that you care about her, but you deserve to feel better yourself as well. I hope you feel better soon Pamela take care sincerely Soidhonia

I have a sinus infection, but I am feeling a little better. My sister is starting to feel better too! I'm glad that she's doing better now! Any way, I have to go catch up with homework now!
