My BP husband needs a good doctor, but we live in a mall town. He's seen most if the doctors here and they have not impressed us. Most seem like they don't care about their patients, many seem like they're not actually as knowledgable as you would hope, and some are just a**holes. His current doctor today has accused him of always being a noncompliant patient. That's laughable as my husband has been reasonable or better at keeping appointments and excellent at taking his meds as prescribed all the time, which is stereotypically something bipolar patients aren't always great at doing. Actually, my husband has seen this doctor maybe about four times over the course of 4.5 years because he generally pawns his patients off on his PA and FREQUENTLY calls off. My husband has had many appointments scheduled where he would get a call from the nurse the morning of saying they had to reschedule.
Anyway, does anybody know of a good place to get patient recommendations/reviews of doctors? Or is anybody here from the west-central PA area that has a doctor they love and would be willing to tell me about? |

I believe this is a reputable website that a lot of people use.
Pennsylvania Psychiatrists - City Directory You didn't really say if the docs were psychiatrists or not. I would suggest a psychiatrist but I know there is a shortage of them. Four times in 4.5 years is not nearly enough.
