Hi

I am a 42 year old ex-Marine that has bipolar. Rage is a huge issue for me.. but I have basically the full range of bipolar... good news is, on my highs I get a lot of work done.

the reason I am posting is this. My daughter is suffering major mental problems... I am pretty sure she is bipolar.. I mean it does run in my family.. anyways.. after going though a really rough divorce 6 years ago.. our relationship is rocky... back to the point.. I got an email that she has been put into a hospital because she was wanting to commit suicide.

I had a rough life.. I was in trailer park in WV.. before internet .. my daughters have t good.. had TV's everything they wanted in their room.. til the divorce..

I don't want to be the "preaching" dad.. and I don't get to see my daughter (she is on east coast .. I am on west).. but how .. do I get her to understand her own mind and how to work through this.

My mom was bipolar.. but it was taboo to speak of it.. so I didn't get help.. I didn't find out about I had it.. or even what it was.. til I was 30.. of course after I was diagnosed.. then the divorce started.. (funny at how life likes to kick you when you are down)_

I really want.. and more NEED to help my daughter through this.. I want to get her to understand she is not alone..

Any words of advice??.. I am in a terrible mess after finding that out.. but I am more concerned about her.. than me.
