My Daughter called me this morning, asking for help.

My Son-I-L is a recovering Prescp. pain med. addict. He went to a rehibilitation hospital, but left early, before he could see a Psych. He is, however, going to AA meetings and in the 12 step program. My Daughter is in Allinon(sp)..at least he says he is?

He has been acting very strange. He shaved his head and has been saying inappropriate things to his wife and children (5). He is and has been paranoid. He thinks his wife is plotting against him.

My DD has called the police and they tell her, that if he isn't an immediate danger to himself or others, then they can't do anything. She has been trying to get him to go back to the hospital and to see a Psychiatrist, but he won't.

She is in fear for herself and their Children. Is there anything she/we can do to help him before he blows?

I am very afraid for all of them. He is such a sweet man, other than this thing happening to him, that he cannot control.

Thanks for listening and I hope you will help with some options for us.

Herself

There are many things that can cause paranoia in a person. It can be caused by withdrawl from drugs or alcohol. If he is in AA and is abstaining, that could be what is causing it.

I found a site that lists different reasons for paranoia - http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sympto...oia/causes.htm

I don't know if they would have the definitive answer for you, but it might help.

(((Herself))) I hope you can find answers and help soon for your son-IL. Prayers for you all for peace and safety.

Hugssss
