Can someone point me in the right direction I need help with my dad. He absolutely refuses to get help and if I knew what kind of mental disorder he had I could be handle it. For example he purposely is miserable and depressed when there is no reason to be say like we just got a new couch and because the dogs sleep on it he now refuses to sit on it and says" **** it I'm just gonna sit at the table I can never have nice things anyway" it reminds me of a 5 year old who never gets his way. He purposely creates drama and gets mad over little things just to be angry like he gets off on it. Say if I don't talk to him in a extremely nice way he will accused me of having an attitude then be rude and have an attitude for the rest of rest of the day. It seems like sometimes he can go from happy to depressed in a matter of seconds and always feels sorry for himself like he's always being wronged by someone like a self defeating attitude. If I say whatever and walk away he will instantly change to "normal" like nothing happened. He always wants people to feel sorry for him or something. What is this does anyone have an idea doesn't have to be exact

Maybe your dad needs a medical check first? My Grampa started getting really mean as he got older and it turns out he was having small mild strokes. Always good to look at the medical side first.

Sorry you have to walk on eggshells!

Yes me and my mother both have to watch what we say/do all the time. So it's possible for someone to have mild strokes without it being noticed? If it helps he is in remission from cancer 5 years ago and had the radiation chemotherapy centered around his face. He's so bad to live with I plan on moving out and far away. I'd feel really bad if it was a legit medical problem he's having.
