My 23 year old son is refusing to pay his agreed upon rent of 50.00 a week. He doesnt clean up his room and takes food in the middle of the night without regard to who pays for it. I have tried to help him over and over again but all he does it get nasty and violent I didnt want him to freeze but Ive had enough and want him to leave . He doesnt contribute at all and I cant afford to be worried about his outbursts He takes advantage of my love and walks all over me When he was young he was diagnosed with ADHD and no matter what he is very lazy and Im done with his excuses He works a job but still refuses to pay rent. Please tell me what I can do other than evicting him. I dont want it to come to that but Ive had enough of his nasty abusive I dont care ways.

Other than evicting him, what leverage do you have? Would he listen to anyone else in the family?

Hi, Karrao6, and welcome to Psych Central! I agree that you need some leverage. Make a written contract and you have legal leverage to evict him. Otherwise, he will continue to take advantage of you.
