Hi Billybob59,
I wish I had an answer or even some insight about that. I suffer from unipolar depression. Hopefully members here who have bipolar depression will respond to your post with something helpful. Sorry I could not be helpful to you. -- Yaowen |

Can two diabetics live together?
It's not the bipolar it's the maturity level and if they are being responsible for their actions by using coping skills.

Grandson is 28 and grandma is 68. Grandson wants money all the time and doesn't take his Bi-polar medicine.

Sounds like grandson would make a bad roommate no matter who he rooms with

I wonder if bipolar is really the primary issue here. One thing you haven't mentioned is if grandma wants this grandson to move in or if this is the grandson's idea & grandma is just going along with it perhaps because she doesn't think she has a choice.
This sounds to me like a perfect set-up for potential elder abuse. I don't know what kinds of elder protection services are available in Tennessee, or if your relationship with grandma is such that you would feel it would be appropriate to intervene in this situation; but based on the little bit of information you've provided here, I would think this would be a good situation to watch... & possibly even report to the relevant government agency if it becomes apparent grandma is being abused emotionally, financially or even physically. Of course if having her 28 year old grandson move in with her is something grandma wants to have happen, then there may be little anyone can, or perhaps even should, do about the situation. But it sounds to me as though the situation bears watching.

"two bipolars" ha, thats a new way of describing bipolar people I had never heard of. I wonder if the fact that they are related would be more of an issue than the mental illness piece? Are they both stable?
