Hi, looking to connect with anyone with an "adult" child with bipolar disorder amongst other diagnoses. She was diagnosed at age 15, but symptoms started around age 12. Still a struggle!

Hi @winteristhepits -welcome to MSF My Support Forums. I am sorry you struggle with a person with bipolar. It is very difficult especially because bipolar can keep changing from depression to mania. It is like going from the frying pan into the fire.
Hope your loved one sticks to prescribed medications. That can give some semblance of stability but even that is not guaranteed when mania strikes. After 33 years, I look back at what I went through and wonder how I survived all that. But I guess it has taught me to do self care first and then do what I can to help my loved one. Feel free to reply to this thread and include a tag @CANDC to make sure I see your post. Hope you find the support you are looking for. |
