Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. I really need some help. My sister in law has two children by my brother and one by another man. I know she has a problem with RX drugs- percs, vics, xantax, and other muscle relaxers. She takes a cocktail at night of muscle relaxer- pain pills- and sleeping pill. She recently has been using meth or coke- not sure which. Her kids found a bagging in her purse and than a rolled up dollar bill in her pants with the baggy. The kids are 13, 8, and 4. She is constantly sleeping and not paying any attention to the kids. She just lost her job, lives in a one bedroom apt with the three kids and herself. The two boys sleep on the couch- and 3 dogs. She has govt assistance for food and medical. Leaves the 13 year old to take care of the others all of the time and than when they call her she cannot be reached.

I want to help her but I am so afraid that I will cause a lot of trouble in her life. I know she needs to go to rehab but I don't know how to do it. I am afraid the dad of the youngest one will try and take her from her- That might be the best thing for her but so afraid of the end result from this.

Please help!

I want to help but don't want thing to blow up in my face either.

if your sister in law is not motivated to get clean or does not have the desire for help, i'm afraid there's little you can do. with her drug useage a detox may take a little longer.
sounds like the first thing to do is to ask her if she wants/needs help for her addictions. tell her you are concerned for her and her children. she is a sick pup right now. if she's not ready..well there's not much else i can provide.
