I haven't been diagnosed with these disorders but I have all of the symptoms and whatever it is, it affects my life severely.
I have written to a psych I'm seeing on the 29th about it and hoping for an assessment for these, because it'd explain a lot about me and if I get a clearer answer on what's going on, I'll be able to find out how to feel better.

I was wondering though...
Does anyone else have both?
Are they common alongside each other?
I've read that they are, but has anyone here got both? Or high possibility of having both and can relate with me?

I'd love to chat to anyone who has.

Thanks.

It's not just about panic stricken moments though. It's a mix of different things...

DPD(which I have all symptoms of)
  • Has difficulty making everyday decisions without an excessive amount of advice and reassurance from others
  • Needs others to assume responsibility for most major areas of his or her life
  • Has difficulty expressing disagreement with others because of fear of loss of support or approval (this does not include realistic fears of retribution)
  • Has difficulty initiating projects or doing things on his or her own (because of a lack of self-confidence in judgment or abilities rather than a lack of motivation or energy)
  • Goes to excessive lengths to obtain nurturance and support from others, to the point of volunteering to do things that are unpleasant
  • Feels uncomfortable or helpless when alone because of exaggerated fears of being unable to care for himself or herself
  • Urgently seeks another relationship as a source of care and support when a close relationship ends
  • Is unrealistically preoccupied with fears of being left to take care of himself or herself

SAD(same for this)
  • Recurring distress when separated from the subject of attachment (such as significant other, the father or the mother, or home)
  • Persistent, excessive worrying about losing the subject of attachment
  • Persistent, excessive worrying that some event will lead to separation from a major attachment
  • Excessive fear about being alone without subject of attachment
  • Persistent reluctance or refusal to go to sleep without being near a major attachment figure, like a significant other or mother
  • Recurrent nightmares about separation
So, it is more about just panic stricken moments, but I appreciate you could relate. I am sorry you feel like that. It must be hard to not be with your daughter, for any mother it must be, especially if their is a close bond.

But, I'm sure you can be in contact with her still, that's always good. And she'll be back soon, till then, try to keep in contact with her and think positive and try to calm yourself.

Hi Pupp

I have both DPD and SAD. All I can say is that I know how much it interfers with your life. My life is greatly hindered by it. I am trying to work on it with my T but it is very slow going. I hope it helps you to know that your not the only one with this going on and to know how hard it can be.

*posted too soon, opps*
I would appreciate it if maybe we could talk sometime about it?
I haven't met anyone on these boards like this, so I'd like it if we could...
if not, I understand and thank you for reading.
TC.
