I noticed there is no category for this but I suffer from an addictive personality which means I get addicted from one thing to another.

I noticed this when I quit smoking about 30yrs ago. I went to hard candy, tried to quit that with gum, tried to quit gum by watching tv, trying to watch my diet and not eating as much, and now I am finding myself online.........UGH when is this vicious cycle going to end? Actually as it stands I am back to being addicted to gum again........lol
Thanks for this!

I definitely have an addictive/compulsive streak in me too! For the past few years the internet has been my main area of excess (you don't say!!!! ) I do agree with Dee though, there are definitely worse things to be addicted to than gum and the internet!! (Not to minimize the problem of internet addiction though, which is very serious when it takes over your life and causes the breakdown of real life relationships and job loss etc).

Is the amount of time you spend online causing you problems? Or is it more that you're tired of the pattern of moving from one "addiction" to another?

Hugs to you!! ((((((((((((tntopo))))))))))

We do have a forum dedicated to addictions.

According to some of my profs, there isn't such a thing as an addictive personality. I wasn't impressed to hear that, because like you, I've switched between many different kinds of addictions and compulsions.
