Can I change my personality, behavior, thinking etc.?
Some of my behavior in the past and present has been hurtful and irritating to myself and others. It is hard to explain.
Boundaries are hard for me coming and going.
I can become compulsive, controlling and over reactive.
When I do talk, sometimes it overwhelms people. Too much information etc. can come spilling out.

Of course you can change! It's hard as … , but definitely possible. I'd just try to get some feedback from others first to make sure your perception is correct. Then you can perhaps think of ways to change our behavior and break the habits: like (for example) writing in a journal before meeting the people you talk too much too to let it all out, then always saying only half as much as you'd want to say. (ex: every other time you want to cut into a conversation, shut up instead and listen). Good luck!

Thanks sonnenschein. Your reply makes me feel more hopeful and I will try your suggestions.

Turns out I am NOT normally like this.
Extreme or long term stress brings it out.
My racing mind got worse after mdoc put me on prozac 3 weeks ago. I'm hoping the increase in racing thoughts calms down. He then added hydroxyzine which is too expensive at around $200.

My doctor said the med should only be 4.99 and is calling the pharmacy.

Also, I think since I'm being treated for depression maybe I should go back to posting there.

I reread your good ideas.
I must go back to using a journal.
It will be hard to only say half of what I want to say, but I will try it.
I do try to not cut into a conversation. When I hear other people cutting in it keeps me more aware of it.

I still need to get more feed back from people I know about my behaviors. One time, while on the phone, a friend mentioned I was talking too much. My husband told me our "like a son" friend said I was irritating after I caught a 11 lb bass.

I'd want to change, even if my behavior only bothered me.

I have insomnia, and did notice I was much nicer after I had a good nape. Just like a child.

When I was barely in my teens my mom had a nervous breakdown. She was in the hospital for a long time. After meeting me, her psychiatrist commented that I was mean!?
My brother was 2yrs older then me and we did have hellacious fights.

It is possible to change your behaviour and bad personality traits. Have you got a therapist? They would be the best to work with you to help you out.
