Is having BPD something you will have to live with the rest of your life?

Technically I believe if you have 5 of the 9 symptoms you a "considered" borderline - If you eliminate one then technically you are not "considered" borderline.

My personal opinion is that it is manageable and with time new coping strageties could move you to a less borderline place. My issue is always when stress comes up I result to the unhealthy ways of BPD. So I guess that is the true test - being able to reactive differently then in the past.

I can feel myself slipping again. I hate having to lie that everything is okay but I am so tired of worrying everybody and I don't want to go back into the hospital. I just recently was able to get my meds back to take on my own. This seems so unfair to have to deal with this. It's really embarrassing. BPD ever go away?

I think as Direction says you can cope/work with it and, with time, as in most things, the behaviors can change. I don't think it will just "go away" like a cold will though as it's not something from outside but part of one's makeup.
