Hi,
I don't know exactly what kind of personality disorder I have. What I suffer most from is hypervigilance and the extreme vulnerabilty for rejection/approval from others. I am aware of that, I had some scheme therapy but the feeling is still there and the need to seek approval as well. Can this ever go away? How to cope with it? |

Hi Pearlys and Welcome! Do you have an official diagnosis yet? If you do, that would be the place to start looking and narrow down the possibilities. Otherwise, going to a doctor might be a good choice to help you find out what the problem is. Hopefully, others here can give you some more ideas than I can.

Hello Jelly-bean,
I have traits of almost all PD.... my wife thinks I have borderline traits of which I recogize some of the symptoms, last year I got diagnosed as avoidant PD, I have some covert narcissism traits where I recognize mostly the hypervigilance and need for approval or sensitivity to rejection (although I hardly get angry when I feel rejected and I do have empathy) and lack of self esteem, I recognize also some histrionic traits. I myself think I have PD not otherwise specified or a mixed PD. Furthermore I've been diagnosed ADHD of the inattentive subtype and I have bipolar vulnerability, which means that sometimes under certain circumstances I can go hypomanic (for instance If I take anti depressants in combination with exhaustion and extreme stress). For the rest of the time when I'm not depressed, I'm quite normal ![]() |
