My friend and I were talking today about fear. He is a wonderfully progressive recovering Borderline currently active in a DBT program.
We were discussing how fear overtakes us and how unreal the images of terror can be. I asked him to try to explain his feelings at such times. He said.."It's like walking in the deepest desert while waiting for a freight train to hit you." Only someone who has been there could have said something like that or appreciated it. Lenny

Wow, that seems so true. I tend to "shove" my fear down so deep, that only I know how intense and painful it really is. I hope that one day I may be able to describe and talk of mine as you and your friend have done.

you can and will. go easy on yourself ... forgive and let go of any false judgments and life experiences that attempted to freeze you as a child, and harm you, and continually hurt you, and let it all go to a safe place .... and give it all up for a walk in the light ... the sunshine brightness of light, in you and around you, that dispels fear and insecurity, even old ego patterns, and drench yourself in the light of who you are how you feel ... it's safe and allowed, it's your human right, and you can own it now. speak your truth any minute of everyday ... if you choose ... and don't let anyone make you into something you aren't, no matter how much you care about them. you are a smart person, who genuinely loves and cares for others. give that to you - unconditionally, and forgive yourself for not knowing how to in other days, and claim your feelings ... no harm, no foul. you have every right to talk freely and be real. best to you, Dear Person, I admire you. I hope you really enjoy who you are in the days to come, as you are so worthy. love, nightbird ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
