So I read through a lot of that website, partly because I'm terrified that I might be a narcissist like I've had countless people tell me. It would explain why I can't keep relationships. And the more I read the more of myself I saw. Is there a way to know for sure? Granted, I went through psychological testing recently and I tested negative, but I also tested negative for Autism Spectrum Disorder which I know for a fact that I have, considering the people that diagnosed me the first time specialized in ASD. So it could just have been missed.

This list and ASD describes a cluster of behaviours. It's unfortunate to not have the diagnosis and closure you were hoping for, but at the end of the day, a label is just a label.
What characteristics from the two lists (mine and ASD) impacts your life or the life of others most? Tackle one thing at a time. Talk with your therapist and let them know the specific behaviours you're wanting to work on. Hopefully they support you through it. |
