I saw my psych today and he says I have a Schizoid type personality. Just thought I'd share.

Hi Phil,

I got the same diagnosis from my psychiatrist. When I first came to PC, I think I was the only one. Now a couple others have come out of the woodwork. How do you feel about the diagnosis? I was actually kind of relieved because it explained a lot of things to me, like why I don't fit in with anyone, why I'd much rather do things by myself.

Regards,
MS

I'd have thought that the internet was rife with SPD's.

It gives a means to express ourselves in a way that we find unable to do so in the real world.

I for one seem to spend way to much time online.

Ditto,
i think thats right, its a 'schizoid comprimise' we can have relationships at a once remove, which would seem safer.
If fact, I have found it just as painful as IRL. It can feel like walking on broken glass, in fact it feels more intense for me than IRL. At times I feel acutely rejected and etc.
Schizoid Type Personality
but its been a good learning place too.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder and Bi-polar disorder. I was diagnosed at a very young age. My obsessive compulsive side deals with :
counting in sequences of 5. 1,2,3,4,5 until the phone rings. I only do it when i feel that the phone is going to ring. I could be there all day.
I also make sure that i take two steps before getting into bed. I can't stand the feel of sheets that havent been washed in 2 days. i feel like can feel bugs. and it makes me scratch. alot.
my bi polar is severe. one wierd thing associated with it, is when im in a state of self hatred, i dont remember being like that the next day. i could wake up and not know why theres blood.
