I woke up around 3:00a.m., really bad nightmares. It is around 5:30 know and I started thiking. You know you only have one live to live and you dang sure won't make anybody else happy so you true to yourself. Stop beingwhat everybody else wants youto be. I like smoking pot, if I feel like it I am going to get stoned. With all the craziness in this world today. Find yourself some happiness. I am going toquit being the yes man. I am going to learn to say no. I am really sick about the evil people in the world. The ones that mean you no good. How can some people be that way? Well wrighting isn't getting reid of this mood, I think it is fueling it. Take care, Greg

Hi Greg, awesome epiphany you've had! When my kids or friends have one of these "ah-HA!" moments, they get...

"The Toilet Paper Story"

When I was very little, my Mom did all the housework. Even down to replacing rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom. When I was 12, one day I was sitting there and looking at the little wooden dowel inside the t.p. roll and wondering how Mom was able to change it. I never learned how it worked, and frankly, I was afraid to try to learn about it.

Then I realized "hey - I am 12 years old. Is this little piece of wood smarter than me?" I broke thru the fear of the unknown, removed the t.p and dowel (with some effort) and played around with it until I figured it out. Man, was I proud of myself!

So I use this example with anyone who's afraid to learn something new - I used to be a Help Desk person in the I.T. field, so this situation happened a lot.

The moral of the story is... God gave us good brains in order that we USE THEM. Think for yourself! Make a decision because you thought about it, weighed the pros and cons and are confident in yourself. NOT because someone older or seemingly wiser told you to do it or because you are afraid to stand out or not think with the pack.

Way to go Greg!

Greg, you started out writing about empowering yourself and then you started talking about all the problems in the world. You went from hope to a difficult problem that you can't fix at this point in your life. Do you think this might be why you started feeling bad writing?
