I have recently come to realise this, and I am getting scared. I plan to see a doctor tomorrow. Is there anything else I should know?

One thing to know is that it's more frequently referred to as Antisocial Personality Disorder. If you click the word Disorder on the blue bar above you can read more about it. Also under the Resource Directory you'll find a lot. Here is a little blurp on the official critirien which a psychiatrist would use:

http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis1/p21-pe04.html

In order to receive this as an official diagnosis, you would have to be over age 18, and have had exhibited signs of Conduct Disorder before you were 15.

Info on Conduct d/o:
http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis1/p21-ch02.html

So, if you want more info, search on Antisocial Personality Disorder, and you'll find tons.

What sort of doctor are you seeing tomorrow? What sorta of worries do you have about seeing him/her? Did something happen which made you decide to go?

Take care. emmy

i've had a few boyfriends with antisocial personality disorder.... so dangerous, yet so magnetic to me. yikes!
i think it is so refreshing to see someone who thinks they have antisocial personality disorder, and are willing to get help for it! please give us an update on what the doc says.

Tristan:

Hope the doc visit went well. It's great to see someone who is taking their mental health into account and trying to get treatment. I wish you luck.

Take Care and keep us posted,
Kimberly.
