Okay this isn't really about PTSD except that I had the shakes for most of the day, but I need to vent. Hope you don't mind.

Day started out by going to the bank and finding out my disability checks have been discontinued (Supposably I got over paid for a few years and now I owe about 10,000. I called a month or so ago and thought an arrangement for lower payments was in place.) Well I'd been saving money to pay my back property taxes so I took out what the county notified me that I needed and still have enough left for my mortgage this month.

I get to the courthouse and find out they added $45 interest for this month. So I still owe them and another $150 penalty is about to be added.

Finally, I've been saving for two years for a new computer. I go to "Staples" and buy a Dell Inspiron package. Get home and set everything up only to find I can't use it to get on line. There is no internal modem. I use my roommate's puter to go to the Dell site to try to buy a modem. The people there seem to think everyone has high speed internet or cable. Guess what neither is available in our area and there is no way I can afford a satellite set up and fees. After an hour of being transfered from one department to another I am finally told no internal modem is available for this model. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I lost it and told them I'm returning the computer and will never buy anything from Dell again. (Which I fully intend on doing as well as writing their customer service ppl to complain.) I just hope "Staples" will take the thing back!

Well there's my rant.

Now all I need to do is calm down enough to keep the boggies away. Guess I should have stayed in my room today after all.

Wow, that was an extremely awful day. I hope by now some of it has been worked out and that you got the computer returned at least.

I am sorry things have been so distressing. Money issues trigger me badly some days.

Sympathetically,

Leslie

Well slowly but surely that day is getting resolved.
"Staples" did take back the puter ... not as many bells and whistles as the other one but it does have the dial-up modem and cost less.

I've got one more month (August) with no pay check. I filled out the paperwork incorrectly. Got to do it again and I should be getting some money at least.

In the meantime I'm not answering the phone so my creditors don't yell at me. When I'm sure the pay is coming back I'll call em at let them know whats up.

Thanks for letting me rant.
Thanks for this!

In similar circumstances I would want to vent too. The creditor thing is awful, so much worse than stupid telemarketing calls.

Is it ok if I suggest something? If you could email the companies telling why you are late and when you will begin trying to catch up they may behave more friendly and spend less time harrassing you with their phone calls. I have read about this online and supposedly keeping in touch so they know where you are at will cut down on mean dunning calls

Feel free to keep venting. Tension is very tiring if you can't let it out.

Hope things cool off and improve soon.
