I have PTSD from childhood events and a few years ago the symptoms were very severe and typical. However, now I feel mostly "over" the things that happened in my childhood, though there are a few things that would trigger me if they were around. However, I have been having severe intrusive thoughts of social problems where I felt abandoned or betrayed by people. I obsess and obsess and feel awful thinking about these things. Can this be a way my PTSD is expressing itself?

Indeed, a newly surfacing unresolved issue...these things come up as we are healing and ready to deal with them. It is not an "I am fixed" healing...it is a process and it takes alot of time. That is one of the most distressing things about it...you go along doing well and then bam, something else to deal with. But my T says they come for 2 reasons...1) you are in a place where you are ready to handle it & 2) You are in a place where you feel safe enough to handle it.
I hope this helps in some small way... ![]()
