I was raped when I was 17. This was a date rape and there are LARGS holes in my memory. In fact I am somewhat positive I was druged because the pieces of memory i do have indicate so. My rape took place 5 years ago. I never sought professional help because i was well because i am ashamed. I am in school for psychology and we have to right up a case study on PTSD. The case study ended up being about a date rape victim. I saw the title of the story we were to read and decided to put off the assignment later. That same night I wet my bed. This has never happened and I wonder if anyone had expirenced bed wetting with PTSD. I dont believe I have had any other symptoms of PTSD however i may have just pushed the event into the corner of my mind and never delt with it. Today i read the full assignment and began working on it. I am just so scared I will wet the bed again......

Consuelo, are you ok? You have nothing to be ashamed of. Are there counseling type people at school that you can sit and discuss your feelings with? Getting clear of the event from 5 years ago now rather than later will only help. And no, my PTSD has never caused me to wet the bed - but I do get frightened sometimes. Be well.

My doctor told me that bed wetting is a sign of PTSD.

You have nothing to be ashamed of! Are you getting help now? Traumatic experiences can sometimes find a way to hide inside us until something triggers them to appear. It sounds like the assignment released what you buried. Maybe working through it in therapy would help you understand more about your symptoms....just a thought
