So I have this issue with personal space. If I am out in a crowd and I can feel the wind from you behind me, or your breath, were way to close. makes me want to jump and run in another direction.
Anything closer than an arms length is too close. Is this ptsd? or am I just anxious. C

I'm certainly not an expert, but it sounds like it could be either. I think it depends on what you're thinking when you're wanting to jump and run. If you're thinking about a specific tramatic incident that happened to you before, then it's probably PTSD. If you don't have a specific tramatic incident, then it's probably anxiety.
Either way, it's probably a good idea to ask a t or pdoc about it. Good Luck. |

Since my experiences with being attacked by the criminally insane at the stae hospital I have to be at least an arms length from people. I am also always scanning the area I am in.

I did look at your about me and any or all of your personal issues can lend to needing space. But everyone has their own need for personal space, it is just human nature.
And even animals need that and I think it is a part of our sense of needing space at all times so we can escape from any harm. I really think it is a built in defense mechanism that everyone has. There is a term called "PERSONAL SPACE" and a lot of books and advice about defining your own personal space and how to respect the personal space of others. Open Eyes |
