Some of you know that I was sexually abused as a child . My brother made me perform oral sex on him. Now the thought of having this procedure next Thursday to see what is going on with my heart is causing me alot of anxiety, flashbacks and I dont know if I want to go thru with it. I wont have any control when I am under sedation then for the prodedure. and they are going to stick that that thing down my throat. I dont want them to do that!!!!!!!!DONT LET THEM DO THAT TO ME! I'm so scared.

I am sorry you FEEL stupid but you are NOT stupid..maybe call the doc or nurse ahead and tell them you have PTSD say for sexual assault and ask them what they and you can do to make this happen in as less traumatic way as possible..YOU HAVE to get this done but this may help it not be so creepy
Hugs to you

Beth I have had the tube thing into my stomach so they could look around and it wasn't really that bad. I agree with Sleeps to just say you are extra nervous due to previous assault and please help you in any way they can. You are not silly.

Sleeps , Petunia and Wisewoman~

Thanks for your replies. I have never met the cardiologist that will be doing this procedure. My doctors office called over and made the appointment for me. So that in itself is making me nervous too. They have reassured me that he is very good and nice and I do trust them. But still the thought of not meeting him gets to me. I dont like this idea of not having any control while I am asleep. BUt like you guys said. I will let them know and maybe they will be gentler about things. Hopefully that will be the case. Thanks for your advice . I truely appreciate it. Love you guys!

Hugz~
Bethy

Hey Beth. I truely feel for you. I know what it is like to feel vulernable while being worked on by the cardiologist. I hope that you get through it without any regrets. I always say to myself, before something like this, that I 'need to do this' and it always helps. Good luck my friend. I wish you the best.

I can feel your anxiety level through your post and can relate. I don't think you are stupid at all by fearing the thought of losing control. Not being in control gives us the feeling that SOMETHING may happen again, could be anything, but something nonetheless. Oh how I can relate. Sounds like something you really need done. Try some relaxation techniques like breathing and prayer, if you do that as well. Sometimes if you don't, others can fill in the gap for you. I will pray for you.
