I used to dream, from an early age - to write a novel, or a trilogy or something like that....
But...after realizing more of my PTSD - - first - that i have it - second - that i get carried away from reality... - third - now that i know what it is i see i will not be able to avoid getting triggered - and this can result in stop functioning - when i JUST start again Just...reading some reviews on books i like and realizing what exactly i like about them made me miss it..sigh I don`t know... I feel already triggered and need to do this counting back that relieves me and puts the past where it belongs and me - safely present. wow - it HAS BEEN A WHILE since i expressed myself! |

Take advantage of what you have.. If you really want it, write it down, think of it often until you make yourself do it. Start writing little by little, incorporate your ptsd, vent, grow and do what you are meant to do.

In any case do write,....something, everyday, experiment find out if you are a morning, mid morn, or evening writer. The kind who locks the door or loves people, pets and whatever else to go running though the studio creating unexpected story lines. Do this not for the out come, a book, but for the journey, to see where these timid steps would take you. Are you a warrior writer, a writer with something to say, are you a nymph writing words for the fun of writing words, loving to match them up and put them upon the page, do you love to explain , make it easy for us techna phobs to understand this brave new world of shiny new toys invented every 5 seconds, or is your journeying taking you to the dark places that need a led-light of some yet undiscovered detective or heroine in a graphic novella, or screen writer, to bring it to our 3D screens? Do you know zen meditation or mindfulness meditation? It is a way to emptying your mind. In a way this journey is like that. Don't try to write a book, just write as you go though the journey to find out what kind of writing you want to do. It sounds, and I may be completely off the wall wrong, that you gave up on writing for a while and/or life got in the way of writing. I'm just suggesting one way to find a path back to your dream. It is your dream, so let it find you. Write in the bathroom, in a park, in a car, in the quiet, in noisy zoo, then rate how you liked it, was it the lack of a chair or too many people? I liked writing in bars, just pass happy hour time, I liked the ambiance, free music, free food, but too many paranoid people were always worrying I was writing about them. Then after about three days they would want to know where the book was, could they read it! Turned out not to be such a great place for writing, still great bargain for supper. Happy Journeyings. __________________ Nammu …Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
