Evidently no one has who has read this thread so far, but it certainly seems possible to me. Have you been able to find anything on the Internet about a possible connection with the two?

I was never formally diagnosed with it but I think I did have it long ago. I, like you, was in an abusive relationship. Actually I was in two but it was during the first one when I was trying to get a divorce that I had onset of paraesthesia (a tingling sort of numbness was mine). It started on the left side of my scalp and went down to my jaw as well as both hands. I talked to a neurologist and told him I was very stressed from the abuse and thought it might have psychological origins but he said we will rule out neurological causes first and did evaluation including CAT scan. After I got away from my exH the symptoms stopped. That was in 1990-91 and I haven't had it since.

I had some kind of anxiety induced "fit" once and it was just like the conversion disorder stuff I've seen on youtube. I thought i was having a seizure. It hasn't happened since though.
