I was watching a random comedy video on YouTube and something unexpected popped up, a visual of something that always causes a HUGE trigger response in me. (I had no clue that this was even on the video otherwise I would NOT have watched it) ANYWAY I was watching the video with my son, and normally, if I were alone, I would have freaked out and gone into panic attack mode.

But he was snuggled up with me in a blanket, I covered my eyes, trying so HARD Not to cry/hyperventilate in front of him and asked him to tell me when it was over. He put his arm around me, and didn't even judge or anything. Just quietly said, "it's okay, mom, it's over, and I'm here."

Wow. therapy from an 11 year old.

Just thought it was a good thing he was there and unknowingly helped me avoid a major breakdown.

I am glad he was able to help--and you were wise to try to shut it out, too.
Thanks for this!
