I found this facility located in Florida on the internet. I am out of state, but am curious if anyone has any suggestions or experience with them? They have in and out patient catering to women suffering with PTSD. As always, thanks for all your wonderful words.

I personally have not been there but a couple of my friends have. One had great reults and the other recieved no benefits from going there.

The bottom line of any therapy is that one persons great therapy experience with a therapist and that same therapist is another persons flop of a therapist.

this isn't because of the therapist and or agency.

Its because everyone is different. no two people lived and processed the same experiences exactly the same way. everyone has their own tollerance level so what might trigger one person into having PTSD may not trigger anther person into having PTSD. and because each person has different needs, and beliefs and experiences each person is going to react differently from going through the same treatment plans, one person may have a good outcome of being on one type of medication where as another person has a bad experience with that medication.

The same for treatment facilities. So basically all you can really do is try things and see if they are right for you.

so if you get alot of people putting this facility down or up please remember that their experience with the facility may not be what you will possibly experience if you went there.

In the end all you can do is try it or not and base your experience if you do try it on whether or not you recieved any benefits from going there by way of if it helped you or not.

Hang in there

Are you talking about the one in Hollywood? Hmmm. IDK ... any inpatient treatment means abreative therapy, IMO. . . since time and resources are limited. If you're ready to do that, why not do so with a T you are trusting?

Why not contact the place and ask THEM for references you can contact? Now that would be the proof of the pudding?

TC!

Thanks for your thoughtful replies. I guess I am in need of some "immediate" relief. I stayed inpatient at Sheppard Pratt for 2 months several years ago. It was a great help, but that has worn off. Many many inpatients vists at the local hospital are of no help. I don't do well in groups, meds have been readjusted, deleted, and added more than I can count. My T is the best, but I guess I just wanted to see some results. Just seems things have been on a downward spiral the past couple years!

(((hugs))) I would surely discuss this feeling with your T then, and then the two of you can address your current urgent needs. TC!
