I'm really excited. I just found out yesterday, that I'd been accepted into Women's College Hospital's Women Recovering From Abuse program. It's reputed to be the best trauma program in the city for women who have experienced childhood abuse. My AA sponsor did it a number of years ago, and she said it changed her life.

I'll find out today or tomorrow when I actually start, but it'll be in 2 or 3 weeks.

I'll start out in their "Getting Started" Program which is Thurs. afternoons. I'll be in that program for 6-8 weeks while I get used to the group format get assessed for readiness for the intensive program, and wait for an opening in the intensive program. Then I'll move into the intensive program, which is Mon.-Thurs. 9-1 for 8 weeks.

I'm a bit nervous about it, because it is intense. But I feel really lucky, because just when I felt healthy enough to do it, their wait list opened up to new referrals, and I had my assessment interviews in June, so that's not a bad wait list really.

And the best part is it's all covered by OHIP, so it doesn't cost me anything.

Glad you are going to get into such a great program. Good luck. Hope it is what you are needing.
