I can understand your feelings. Isn't it odd how the thing/s that seem to upset us from our way past, can keep being repeated in our lives! That happens to me too!!

Maybe it's some kind of message to us..... the message that says -- this will keep going on until one can heal those feelings from inside.

I'm sorry you were subjected to absolutes when young- I imagine that could put a lot of pressure on a little one and also the feeling of being unsure of things.

Thanks Mandy..... and I think you're absolutely (!?) right...... I think many people are attracted to others who in some way represent a parental figure from their childhood. The unconscious fantasy/wish is to have a corrective experience (I read about the corrective emotional experience that is supposed to happen with a good therapist......but I also relate to this from my own experiences)........but often the friendship goes sour if the childhood issues have not been resolved...or unless an appropriate (?) distance is kept.....or unless the person is well advanced in therapy
