Does anyone else have PTSD from being sexually assaulted? I feel like I'm the only one.

Hi anrevival, welcome to PC and the PTSD forums. The answer to your question is "yes" there are members here that have PTSD from being sexually assaulted. They usually like to be in the Abuse forum where they can talk about it more with others who struggle the same way.

That being said, PTSD is PTSD and the symptoms are the same for everyone that struggles with it. So, you will get support in this forum as well.

I am very sorry you struggle this way.

You are SO not alone in this, fortunately and unfortunately. Hopefully as Open Eyes mentions that the symptoms of PTSD are discussed here, it is also discussed in the Abuse forum. Perhaps as she mentions that will help as another place to find to find support as well. In either case, the symptoms of PTSD are the same as with any other event, and the coping strategies are the same as well.

I hope you find the answers and support you are looking for, and know that you are SO really not alone in this. There is help and support here at PC and out IRL with a counselor or T, hopefully someone to try to connect with. Would encourage to do so too, the help is there, just need to ask.

Hang in there, do what you need to to take good care of you, and sending good vibes your way meanwhile.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
