How do you know that you are "better"? I haven't had nightmares or thoughts directly about the abuse. The only thing that really remains from the early years are the ingrained thoughts. Negative thoughts that ruminate but don't truly connect to the abuse that happens every time I'm depressed. I think I'm over the cause of my PTSD. Is it possible to be over it?

I think it depends on the person tigersassy. I think you have finally been able to process whatever the trauma was, but you are still struggling with some negative messages which can take longer to overcome. I don't know if the hyper awareness ever is completely cured tbh.
Glad to hear you have made so much progress. OE |
