Has anyone had an experience the use of brainspotting in a therapy session? I had a session earlier this week where this technique was used. We started with EMDR and I was having some trouble tracking. My therapist switched to brainspotting. I figured out why she stopped the tracking where she did (I kept blinking in the same spot) but I was not prepared to handle the memories that flooded out when we held my eye gaze in that location. I walked out of my session feeling like I had worked an 8 hour shift. I continued to replay the memories for the rest of the day and the next few days. The second day was the most vivid. She didn't tell me the name of the technique until today. I looked it up. Based on what I researched, my reaction was what would be expected. The mind is so mysterious. I'd like to know someone else's experience with this therapy technique.
