I'm not sure if anyone else measures their lives like this. I don't think about age when I think about my past. Instead, I group my memories and measure my years by the stages and events that have transpired.

For example the periods in my life instead of being early childhood, school age, teen, young adult, etc are; earliest trauma, emotional abuse, rapes, permiscuity, rapes/harassment, emotional abuse, post hospitalization.

When someone says something like "when I was 25" an entire stage - an entire grouping together of whatever memory(s) marking that time period - flashes before my mind. I feel physically sick in response. I can't actually recall myself and what I did at say age six, I instead remember what stage I was imprisoned in.

Yes! I do 'timelines', too. I don't like it and wish I didn't measure time in such a difficult way.

I'm not sure I do it quite like you describe but it makes perfect sense - strong emotional memories are hardwired to the amygdala amongst other brain areas. In other words there is a very scientific reason for what you describe:
