So a friend of mine posted on Facebook about the shootings in Yountville at the veterans home and of course all anyone is talking about is a veteran with ptsd. While that may be true it just further reinforces in the masses minds that people with ptsd are people with guns who shoot innocent people. I literally had that conversation with a person who talks like they know a lot about everything.

It is exhausting trying to explain to the uninformed what mental illness is and isn't. Wouldn't it be something if all the know it all people who are unwilling to expand their teeny, tiny brains enough to try to understand, were to walk in the shoes of the mentally ill for a day, a week, a month, or a year just for the enlightenment experience? I'd volunteer all of mine to anyone just to see if they had a different opinion afterwards. I'd let any volunteer keep them too!!!
Thanks for this!
