This does focus on veterans that struggle with PTSD, HOWEVER, PTSD is PTSD and it's a crippling challenge that anyone who suffers from it can have a very hard time in the world of expecting them to JUST GET OVER IT comments. This talks about what is being learned about it AND a new treatment that is showing a lot of promise. I am ready to step up and try it myself tbh. At any rate, it's validating in that this explains the challenge of ptsd itself and just how hard it is to manage it when you suffer from it.

Thanks so much for sharing this, Open Eyes. I'd love to be able to try this for chronic depression and anxiety too.

Thanks for sharing this, if this really works without any serious side affects, it's amazing!
But - I must admit a lump instantly formed in my stomack, cause to be honest, I have no idea who I would be without the depression, it's been a part of me for so long. So would I become a different person? I often get scared of "losing" myself. I think this is partly dissociation, or often dissociation, but I've been thinking a lot that I could either die as me or live on as someone else. That I wouldn't be me anymore without all of this. Which is a very disturbing idea, and one I am very reluctant to talk about (I don't think I've ever talked about it, really), cause it may seem like I want to be depressed, to have people feel sorry for me, or to feel special or anything like that. It's very confusing.. Anyone else had similar thoughts?

YOU ARE THE BEST for posting this- this has been one of the hardest disorders to treat. I immediately emailed my friends in Iraq, Wales, and Phoenix whose are struggling with this, and they will tell all their friends.
Anyone who knows how to get this, please post!!!!! Of course wonderful people do hurt themselves when they have this! Any hope for ptsd will SAVE SO MANY LIVES!! God Bless You and God Bless America!!!

When people hear PTSD, they don't understand how crippling it can be and some people have it worse than others too.
It's important to remember though that this is a new treatment and though it is proving to be working so well and they have not noticed any side effects it's not YET approved to be used in the general population. They are not saying it's a cure for ptsd either, but that those who have tried the treatment have definitely noticed a huge difference and feel hope where there was little hope due to how debilitating ptsd can get. It's good to share the link with friends who can share it with their treatment providers so it may speed up things so others can benefit from this treatment. Also so that treatment providers become aware of this treatment as well. |
