Over the past few months I’ve felt that I was no longer living to survive or running from something but I’ve been struggling still. I’ve changed my antidepressant and went no contact with my abuser. But I feel like I don’t know how to just live and dealt with normal stuff people my age have to deal with e.g love, school and so on.

I’m still seeing a therapist but I wasn’t sure I’ve they could help me with this or if I had to work it out on my own.

Good for you that you have made progress. It's best to not have any contact with someone that abused or traumatized you. Keep taking your life one day at a time and find things you enjoy doing.

Dear MeXoXo,

It sounds like you are in a difficult, difficult situation and I am so very, very sorry you are carrying such heavy burdens. I think it is good that you are no longer in contact with the person who abused you. It is just heartbreaking that you were abused! Hopefully your new antidepressant will help you a lot. I have been helped tremendously by antidepressant medications.

If you have a good therapist, I think he or she will be able to really help you with all the issues you mention. People who have not been afflicted with depression have no idea how much strength and heroism it takes to do things that other people take for granted. I sure hope things get better and better for you. You deserve so much more than to be so heavily burdened!

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

I too am glad you are no longer in contact with your abuser. I hope the antidepressant helps. Therapy can be beneficial too, I know it has really helped me. Hang in there!
