PTSD hallucinations.
Possible trigger:

EDIT: To give the trigger warning some context.

I'm sorry you're struggling with that. Are you in any sort of therapy or going to any "survivor" groups (not "victim" groups) to help process the trauma? I used to get frequent flashbacks and still do to a lesser extent, but going to groups and therapy and looking around online has helped me deal with it and the aftermath better. I hope you find some peace

Yes I'm in Therapy. I have been for a lot of my life now, but this one is specifically for trauma. The flashbacks have got a little better over the weeks, but a lot of the time I have no idea when they're going to come, and it absolutely breaks me every time.

Yeah, mine are typically triggered by something, but I don't always know what. Sometimes it's even just a feeling or a thought that triggers it. I've been told trauma therapy makes things worse before they get better. I'm just starting out with trauma-specific therapy myself so I'm prepping for a bumpy road ahead. I know how tough it is, but hang in there, the therapy will help if your therapist is a good one

I can see how having unknown triggers would, to say the least, make it somewhat difficult to deal with. Unhelpfully showering has been a major issue from the depression, and just as I get back on track that now seems to have turned into a trigger for it.. Mercifully it's been getting a bit easier. Turns out if I keep my eyes shut and/or don't look down then I can't see it..
I've been through the wrangler of a few types of therapy myself, so I'm preparing myself for a fun time.
Thank-you for your understanding. It's going to suck, but it'll get better eventually I know.
