Just a reminder for those suffering with PTSD.

It's important to realize that this can very well increase your symptoms.

With all that's going on in the world, add in the political arena that is hot right now in the USA, and PTSD can "go through the roof" with reactions.

Do good self care. Turn off the tv or radio, or put it to a non-political news channel. (The inclination is to leave it on and draw more and more and more angst from it, but not being able to get away from it. PTSD causes that.)

Keep a good check on yourself and your reactions...and take time out for you, quiet time, self care time. It's ok... the world can exist without your vigilance for a few hours.

yeah just the word of any govt thing like 'elections' is a trigger to me. I need to avoid seeing this thread. Maybe stay away from the PTSD forum for a little while.

to all suffering.

Shut the media down! It will go on without you, and me. For some reason it does affect those with PTSD more than many people. The hypervigilance is the reason. Once you have it playing in the background...on and on... and then try to shut it down, well... you have to turn it back on... the hype and the audacity of most of the pundits feed into the frenzy.

Do yourself a favor... see how little you can expose yourself to, one day at a time.

You make some good points Sky.

I find some it this educational but certainly it's consistent redundency can be tiring..

The good news,,unlike heroin,,it will be gone in 13 days.
