I had mayor depression disorderder also and pbd and ocd, but depression was the hardest. After my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin SR to take 2 in the morning, I Waited 33 days to feel finally in a good mood in, energy came back, focus also, motivation also, maybe libido was higher then usually and I wass old myself again. Only one side eddect was active - insomnia for 3 weeks, but I was sleeping 2-4 hours daily so it was not so hard to handle.
Ask whatever you want, I was on many antidepressants and sedatives so be free to talk. Have a good day,
Markizijo

@markizijo welcome to MSF - I am so happy to hear your doc found a med that helped you. That must be a big relief.

You are fortunate that that happened so smoothly. Some people's doc tries many meds and does not get the kind of results you got. And the interesting thing is different people respond to the same med differently. So unfortunately your good success with that med does not insure others will have the same results. If it was only that simple.

Thanks for joining the community! CANDC

Yes, welbutrin is a med that has to be up to the "therapeutic dose" to be effective. Just 150 mg is usually not enough but they often start you on it slowly.

I remember when i got off of welbutrin - i had finally cut contact with my family, so after a while - a year? More? It felt like welbutrin was sitting on my head! I was released from my family stress, so i didnt need the welbutrin to tie me down to earth anymore.
