Since the term "sane" is really a label for the legal system, I'm not going to take the test. I have bipolar disorder...I already know I'm a little nuts.

My score varies sooooooo much, even when I feel pretty similar to a previous day

Plus it should be the insanity score, since you are more sane if you score lower. Sanity score really includes you score high if you're sane.

Yeah, I think it's a pretty silly test. I know it isn't supposed to be taken 100% seriously, but am I the only one who thinks it's a little irresponsible having a test that gauges one's "insanity" on a forum that is supposed to help people with serious mental problems? I think the last thing any of us needs to be told is whether we are "insane" or not!!
Thanks for this!

Yeah, I don't think the term "sanity score" is valid, nor is it helpful to those who happen to score highly. If someone calls you insane, it's meant as an insult. I think, especially if you are in a state where you do score highly on the test, that being called insane would be really detrimental to your recovery or coping. I think it's kinda mean and maybe they should change the name of the test to something else, because I do think it is a good measure of your mental state.

it's fun when something/someone is trying to guess your insanity
and its result is not totally wrong.

I like the sanity word since it has no formal meaning; I mean, at exactly what number do you cross the line from sane to insane? :-) It just, hopefully, tells you what you already know or suspect are problem areas but, if you are "surprised" with anything, then it's a good place to start thinking about what one is doing, what one can improve or not. Mine tells me I have health issues because my BMI is too high; there is a kind of ranking of issues so you can kind of figure out where to start to work?

I took the Sanity Test, but I keep hearing Chico Marx saying "There ain't no Sanity Claus!" every time I see the words! I took the test back in May and put the results in a file on my desktop for some reason. So I've been listening to Chico for some time now.

I think that sometimes tests like this one can make us stop and think about something that we've been ignoring or denying. I think they can also serve as an important support for someone who is not yet convinced that they are not just lazy or malingering or weak. It took me years to believe it myself - I still have doubt sometimes.

I think my score (107) is a little lower than it could have been because I am currently medicated.

I take the test monthly, and compare how things have varied over time to how it is like in real life. I think this is a good test, it gives you a nice spreadsheet of data to analyze yourself. This isn't a diagnosis, it's the most basic structure of understanding; in my opinion.
Thanks for this!
