I'll be completely honest, was a little worried before starting this! I viewed other people's scored and though I was going to get a lot higher number.

For the past few years I've been going through loops of emotions (I guess a break-up really made me think) and going here was a smart choice

I wasn't surprised about was my computer addiction... Then again, if I didn't have that I wouldn't have found Psych Central!!

It did give me some disturbing details... it told me that I could have a borderline personality disorder. What does this mean?? I used to joke around all the time saying I had emotional instability, but can this really happen to me?

Well, borderline personality disorder affects about six million people in the U.S. (2%) from one source I found. So, it's not completely rare. However, to get such a diagnosis, you would need to be in treatment for awhile. I hope you are considering therapy or already in it, anyway. Many of us at Psych Central either are in therapy or have been in therapy.

As far as what it entails, you might want to see what you can find out on the borderline sub-forum here (under personality disorders.) It does involve quick emotional changes, a fear of rejection and abandonment, etc.

I assume you have other significant scores, too.

127 is a bit high as a score, but please don't take it to mean you are "insane." I wish the name of the test could be changed!
Thanks for this!
