It said I'm normal... but I do have a tendency towards depression cause I once was very depressed and I'm heavier than I should be. Oh and I stay online too much sometimes... and I really am not a social butterfly. I think the questions really aren't specific enough. Some people are quiet and don't like to be in the social scene. I don't find that abnormal. I'm not like my brother who is very outgoing. And because I'm getting older and fatter I don't really think I look so great anymore. I don't hate myself over it or anything. That's pretty normal too at my age. So I think a lot of things should be adjusted on the test to be a lot more specific.

Hello Insancy: Yes, I know what you mean. I sometimes take these tests. And when I look at the results I say, "Huh?" It doesn't seem much like me. I think one has to take these, as well as all other mental health tests, with the proverbial grain of salt. But they're interesting none-the-less. I still take one periodically & then chuckle at the results.

Hi, Insancy1225, and welcome to Psych Central! This test is designed to see if people have serious problems and need treatment. It's not designed to pick up the normal issues that people have in coping with life. For example, most everyone has been depressed at times. It can be a normal response to life problems. That is different from clinical depression which is a mental illness.

But, if you would like, then you can meet with a therapist to talk about your depression and any other issues.

Okay?
Thanks for this!

I completely agree with TL.

Perhaps some counseling could enrich your life, ironing out the kinks?
(or therapist, although I dunno if they'll see you, if they don't feel you need it; that's how it can be over here in the UK, unless you pay for a private one)
